Water Quality Tests In Concrete Laboratory Testing

Just as the quality of raw materials needs to be checked frequently, the water quality needs to be looked out for. There are different quality checks for the water to be used for construction purposes to determine the suitability of water. These tests are usually conducted in a laboratory with a controlled environment. InstaCrete is a reasonably prominent company of the construction industry in Lilongwe known to support fellow construction companies with excellent services and construction material. The company provides ready to mix concrete transported directly from the batch plant to the construction site. This direct transportation offers dual benefits of reducing construction time and assisting with the labor.
Concrete Laboratory Testing

Instacrete ensures to take all the necessary measures to help you build a construction marvel, even if it requires providing the customers with concrete laboratory testing. The following is a list of water quality tests that must be conducted to ensure that the water used is suitable for construction. Read on to plunge into the details. ·

pH value test
pH stands for the potential for hydrogen. The pH test determines the acidity or alkaline nature of the water sample. It accounts for any impurities present in the water samples.

Limits of acidity test
For every 100 ml of a water sample, it should not require more than 5ml of 0.02 normal NaOH. To determine the acidity of water samples, phenolphthalein is used as an indicator.

Limits of alkalinity test
For every 100 ml of a sample of the water, it should not require more than 25ml of 0.02 normal H2SO4. To determine the alkalinity of water samples, a mixed indicator is used.

Concrete laboratory testing ensures that water from the source undergoes all the tests and is used for construction only if it passes all the tests. These tests are repeated every three months to ensure the quality of water is good enough.
