Types Of Foundation Mix Concrete Used In Malawi: Their Benefit And Strength

As concrete usage is so much, there are many types of concrete available in the market and are used for different purposes, as they hold varied features and specialties. The types of concrete that are available are the following:





Self-Compacting Mix - The self-compacting concrete mix settles on its own with its own weight. And it is used at the places where the vibrators or other machines can’t reach. 

Regular Structural Mix - This regular structural mix is used for the external walls, slabs, stairs, and many other purposes. They are versatile and have an average level of strength. 

High Strength Mix - The high strength mix is used in the high-rise structures, in their walls, columns, and more erect parts. They are higher and greater in strength. 

Foundation Mix - The foundation mix concrete has the highest strength and is used in the foundations of any structure, to make it strong enough to take the weight of the entire potential structure that will be built on it. 

Screed Mix - This concrete mix is used above the layer of the concrete. This is the finishing layer of concrete, which has the specialty of making the surface smooth. 
 
Rapid setting Mix - This type of mix is used mostly at the places that require the repair work. These can be used at footpaths, stairs, or any other place that has to be brought in use in just a few hours. As they set rapidly and fast, they have moderate to a high level of strength. 

Suspended Slab Mix - These are used on the slabs that are all built above the ground floor. They are higher in strength. 

Non-Shrinking Grouts - This non-shrinking grout concrete is used at the places that require to hold a pillar, beam, or other things so that the place can have the strength to bear the weight. Thus they have much higher strength.
